I saw this post http://scienceyoucanlove.tumblr.com/post/45750654394/abluegirl-artist-reimagines-the-big-bang-with and I would like to say that making paintings with fireworks is actually very easy and fun! Above are some paintings I’ve done either partially or completely with various fireworks. Some tips are:
1. Get those party popper guns where you pull the trigger to shoot confetti everywhere. Carefully remove the cardboard circle covering the front of the gun and pour paint into it. Quickly replace the cardboard circle and shoot it at the canvas.
2. For firecrackers you’ll need plastic wrap, tape, and paint. Cut a square of plastic wrap and pour some paint on it. Quickly put the firework in the center with the fuse not touching the paint puddle, tape the plastic wrap tightly around it, light, and run away. You also can replace the paint with glitter and make glitter bombs.
3. If the canvas will fit, you can set off the fireworks inside a plastic storage bin or box. This limits the amount of paint that gets all over your yard, or apartment.
4. PLEASE use common sense when handling fireworks. If you’re underage get an adult to help you.
The Big Bang was more of an extremely swift expansion, instead of what we’d think of as an explosion or “bang” so this isn’t a good representative model, but it is still a fun activity.
